The Velocity Lite is Ortlieb's answer to riders who want genuine waterproofing without the weight or the tarpaulin aesthetic of a classic PVC shell. Built from PU-coated nylon (PS33) rather than PVC-coated polyester, it is noticeably lighter than the standard Velocity while delivering the same IP64 waterproofing that defines the range. The Cyber Blue/Cyber Pink colourway belongs to Ortlieb's Cyber collection — a series of limited-edition colourways that sit outside the standard palette and are designed to be noticed.

Every functional detail is unchanged from the Velocity platform: roll closure with quick-access flap, ventilated foam back panel, padded laptop compartment, internal organiser, U-lock holder and rear light loop. The difference is in the hand — noticeably lighter, and in the fabric finish — a cleaner, modern nylon texture that wears differently from the classic waxed-tarp look.

Waterproofing

Certified IP64 — complete dust protection and resistance to water jets from all directions. The roll closure is the primary seal; close it fully and contents stay dry in sustained heavy rain. The nylon shell is PU-coated on the inside, maintaining waterproofing without the external sheen of PVC. Ortlieb welds all critical junctions rather than stitching them, ensuring every join is as strong as the fabric itself.

Carrying system

The back panel is ventilated foam, thick enough to cushion a loaded bag on a long commute. Ergonomic padded shoulder straps with a removable chest strap and removable hip belt provide adjustable support. A reinforced base with lateral protectors and support feet keeps the bag upright when set down. A top carry handle for quick grabs.

The Velocity Lite uses PU-coated nylon (PS33) instead of PVC-coated polyester (PD620) or Cordura (PS620C). This makes it lighter — 790 g versus 880 g for the 23L Classic — and gives it a cleaner nylon finish rather than the tarpaulin-style exterior. Waterproofing performance is identical at IP64.
